Sinotruk Fujian Haixi Truck Co., Ltd. was founded based on Fujian Yong'an Automobile Repair Plant, which was located in Puling Village, Yong'an Chengguan Commune, Fujian, with the construction commenced in January 1959 after approval by the First Machinery Industry Department of the State.

On September 15, 1969, Yong'an Automobile Repair Plant trial-manufactured the first FJ130 2.5-ton truck in Fujian Province, and began the mass production thereafter.

On September 20, 1970, FJ130 trucks participated in the celebration of the 21st National Day in Beijing.

After 60 years of wind and rain, we have forged ahead. From scratch to strength, Yong'an city has developed into the largest truck production base in Fujian Province and an important automotive industry base in the southeast region of China. Vision

From 'industrial blank' to 'taking root'

In May 1970, except for a small amount of military products, the Plant mainly focused on the maintenance of automobiles and engines and the development of agricultural production.

At that time, the automobile industry in Yong' an had been developing for 11 years. Yongan Automobile Repair Plant faced the first adjustment by the State at the beginning of the plant construction, and changed its name many times since then. In January 1964, it was renamed Yong’an Automobile Repair and Accessories Factory of the Fujian Provincial Department of Communications and Transportation Bureau. In January 1965, it was renamed Yong’an Automobile Repair and Accessories Factory of the Fujian Provincial Department of Communications and Transportation Bureau. On September 22, 1970, it was renamed Yong’an Automobile Repair and Manufacturing Factory.

At that time, there was an urgent need for diverse machinery, especially transportation machinery, in economic production. The enterprise has made a strategic decision to develop the automobile manufacturing industry, performing production in sync with construction, and gradually transitioning from automobile repair to automobile manufacturing.

In 1966 and 1969, the first Fujian 66A off-road vehicle and FJ130 light-duty truck were trial-manufactured respectively in Fujian Province. Since then, Fujian FJ130 light-duty trucks went into mass production.

On September 26, 1971, 40 Fujian FJ130 trucks participated in the opening ceremony of Fuzhou Wulongjiang Bridge. 40 trucks, wearing red flowers, lined up neatly on the bridge and slowly passed by, creating a spectacular scene.

Fujian FJ130 truck debuted in the National Industrial Products Exhibition held in Beijing in December 1970. Since then, Yong'an became the main production base of Fujian automobile industry.

From 'ignorance' to 'creating brilliance'

In May 1977, Yong'an Automobile Repair Factory became the designated supplier of the national automobile manufacturer. By 1981, Yong'an had produced 6,148 Fujian F130 trucks.

To accelerate the development of new products and secure a market presence, Yong'an Automobile Repair Factory became a member of the Nanjing Automobile Industry Association and the China Second Automobile Works Group in 1981 and 1986 respectively. In the process of product transformation, it actively enhanced the production of modified vehicles.

After years of dedicated effort, the automobile factory had successively developed and mass-produced six new products, including Fujian 342 three-way dump truck, Dongfeng FJ343A dump truck, Fujian F134 truck, Fujian FJ1040 2-ton light truck, etc.

In October 1984, Yong'an Automobile Repair Factory was officially named Fujian Automobile Factory. In January 1985, FJ343 three-way dump truck won the 'Advanced New Product Development Award' issued by the provincial government.

In 1986, Fujian Automobile Factory began to carry out product transformation. After 2 years of technical transformation, the automobile factory emerged as a designated supplier for national automobile manufacturing and modified automobile production, a designated supplier for national agricultural vehicle production and a key enterprise in the provincial machinery industry system with outstanding technical and economic strength.

In 1992, Fujian Automobile Factory's output value and sales of automobiles and agricultural transport vehicles surpassed 100 million yuan for the first time, while profits hit 5 million yuan. In 1993, Fujian Automobile Factory was recognized by the National Bureau of Statistics and the Development Research Center of the State Council as one of China's top 500 most profitable enterprises and one of the 100 largest transportation equipment manufacturers. As a result, Fujian Automobile Factory ushered in a golden age, reaching a zenith of 1,600 employees. In 1998, Fujian Automobile Factory was recognized by the provincial government as a key enterprise for supporting technological advancement during the 'Eighth Five-Year Plan' period.

Breakthrough

From 'a dilemma' to 'a rebirth'

In April 2003, Fujian Automobile Factory was insolvent, and with the consent of the State Council, it was included in the national policy-based bankruptcy program. Led by Fujian Motor Group, 'Fujian Newlongma Automotive Co., Ltd.' was established through reorganization with Longyan State-owned Assets Investment Management Co., Ltd., private investors and other shareholders, utilizing the residual assets of Fujian Automobile Factory, successfully safeguarding the esteemed 'Fujian Brand' in the automobile catalog.

After numerous efforts, Yong'an Automobile Factory of Fujian Newlongma Automotive Co., Ltd. commenced operations in November 2004.

In 2005, Yong'an Automobile Factory produced the first heavy-duty truck in Fujian Province, achieving an annual production of 3,811 vehicles. On December 28, 2006, the new final assembly line with an annual output of 10,000 trucks was completed and put into operation, and the 8,000th truck rolled off the production line, with the annual output value surpassing 700 million yuan. The automotive industry's output value comprised nearly one-tenth of the total industrial output value for larger enterprises in Yong'an City, establishing it as a cornerstone industry within the city.

Sanming City and Yong'an City of Fujian Province seized the opportunity to vigorously promote the development of the automobile industry. In 2005, the Puling Automobile Industrial Investment Zone was founded and subsequently elevated to the Sanming Puling Automobile Industrial Park in 2006. Amidst the national Automobile Industry Adjustment and Revitalization Plan and 'Western Taiwan Straits Economic Zone Development Strategy', the city's automobile industry has concentrated on transforming its approach and restructuring in line with the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government's directives to 'lead the way, forge the links, and establish the cluster.', aiming at advancing the development of the vehicle and parts sector.

In September 2010, the park achieved a significant milestone in investment attraction by securing the year's largest industrial production project in the province. This involved CNHTC 's reorganization of Fujian Automobile Factory, leading to the establishment of Sinotruk Fujian Haixi Truck Co., Ltd in Yong'an. With a planned investment of 2 billion yuan and two construction phases, the project was to create an important commercial vehicle production and export base in the Western Taiwan Straits Economic Zone and even across China, infusing fresh energy into Puling. The project covered a floor area of 151.72 acres. Its initial phase was fully completed and put into operation in June 2012, encompassing a built-up area of nearly 200,000 square meters, which included new factories and ancillary facilities. There are final assembly lines of medium/heavy-duty trucks and light-duty trucks, production lines and test lines of chassis for truck with loading crane, welding and painting, as well as road proving grounds, etc., and the equipment comes up to the domestic advanced level.

It mainly develops, produces and sells light-duty trucks, medium-duty trucks and medium/heavy-duty trucks. The registered trademark is 'HOMAN'. It has developed an annual production capacity of 50,000 light-duty trucks and 50,000 medium/heavy-duty trucks. It is the only complete truck enterprise integrating R&D, manufacturing and sales in the southeast coastal provinces.

On November 5, 2011, the first vehicle rolled off the assembly line of medium/heavy-duty trucks officially.

Over the years, Sinotruk Fujian Haixi Truck Co., Ltd has adhered to the introduction of technologies and product lines from CNHTC. Its products have achieved full coverage of 'China VI' and new breakthroughs in 'new energy'. Its product quality has reached a new level required by CNHTC standards, and its brand awareness and market share have increased year by year.

After years of development, Sinotruk Fujian Haixi Truck Co., Ltd has passed the identification of Fujian provincial 'Enterprise Engineering Research Center and Technology-based Enterprise', and has been identified as a patent navigation pilot enterprise in Fujian Province and an enterprise with advantages in intellectual property rights. It is one of the top 100 key industrial enterprises in Fujian Province and an advanced enterprise in quality management.

In 2017, it was awarded the 'national workers' vanguard'. The 'HOMAN' automobiles have won the title of Fujian famous brand product, and the 'HOMAN' trademark has won the title of Fujian famous trademark.

In 2019, it passed the national military standard system certification, and successively passed the standard implementation certification, such as IATF16949 quality management system, ISO14000 environmental management system, OHSAS18001 occupational health and safety management system, and energy management system.

On October 1, 2019, at the conference of celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China held in Tiananmen Square, Beijing, Fujian float named 'New Fujian with high quality and attractive landscape' slowly passed in the front of Tiananmen Square for the inspection on behalf of the Fujian people. Although the float marked with 'Fujian float - manufactured by Sinotruk Fujian Haixi Truck Co., Ltd.' drove through Tiananmen Square for just a few minutes, it included sweat and effort of the float project team of Sinotruk Fujian Haixi Truck Co., Ltd.

Focusing on the work requirements of 'making every effort to develop Yong'an Automobile City and build a 100-billion-yuan automobile industry' presented by the Sanming Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, the construction of a 20km² modern automobile city will be comprehensively promoted in accordance with the standards of provincial economic development zones and the construction concept of industry and city integration. The Sanming Puling Automobile Industrial Park will have a total investment exceeding RMB 20 billion, with a medium/heavy-duty truck production capacity of 200,000 units, a vehicle output value of more than RMB 30 billion, a supporting industry output value of more than RMB 30 billion, and a machining industry output value of more than RMB 40 billion in Sanming City. This will establish an industrial cluster with the city's mechanical and automobile output value of more than 100 billion yuan. The Park will feature domestically advanced key components including automobile assembly and cabs, positioning our city as an important automobile industry base in Haixi and all over China and an important commercial vehicle export base on the southeast coast. This initiative will lay a robust foundation for achieving the goal of a vehicle production capacity of more than 300,000 units and building a modern automobile city in Haixi with complete supporting facilities, perfect functions, advanced logistics, beautiful environment and talent accumulation.
